Californian sunset, perfectly decorated cakes and classes on how to make snacks with vinegar and salt. That’s right -“With Love, Meghan” is back.

The second season of the TV series, which opens on Netflix on Tuesday (26), was filmed once again in a house near the Duchess of Sussex in Montecito.

Famous friends like Chrissy Teigan and John Legend appear to eat. And we have a glimpse of what Meghan’s family life is like, although the Duke of Sussex and his children, Archie and Lilibet, do not appear in it.

Take as an example the mornings. In an episode, Meghan reveals that he makes hot breakfast for his family almost every day. “It’s not as complicated as people think,” she says.

“It sounds like a huge task, but you’re just cutting bread, plunging it into some eggs and you’re done.”

When asked about it by her guest, Tan France, from the Netflix series “Queer Eye”, she explains what she likes to cook.

“Fried eggs and pancakes, but I like to make surprise pancakes for the kids, so I always put some ground flaxseed seeds and some chia seeds. And Lili asks me: ‘Can I eat chia seeds? I want to (the pancake) have freckles,'” she says.

“The breakfast ritual is a sacred moment for the family,” she adds. “Just take a minute of calm before the day.” If this is nothing like what happens in your mornings, don’t worry.

Many of us are lucky if we can find time to eat some cereal before work.

But the goal of the Meghan series is that it is aspirational. It is optimistic. And it remains relentlessly optimistic in all episodes.

Harry said ‘I love you’ first

In season two, as well as the first, Meghan shares cooking tips, gardening and lodging with famous friends and guests.

Pieces about your life, love and interests are scattered everywhere.

We heard that, as an aspiring actress, Meghan – who starred in the “Suits” series – used to be so nervous at the auditions that she had stains and had to wear a high collar.

When a hearing went well, she was present with an apple pie from McDonald’s. She knew she loved Harry on the third meeting when the couple was camping in Botsuana.

He said “I love you” first. They eat a lot of roasted chicken. But Harry’s less adventurous taste also deserves featured.

In preparing a meal with chef José Andrés, Meghan reveals that her husband doesn’t like lobster.

“No way,” says Andrés. “And you married him?”

But the show is as much about what is not in it and what is about. The royal family is not mentioned, nor is there any discussion about the division within it.

Earlier this year, Harry gave an interview to BBC News in which he said he would “love reconciliation” with his family, but none of this is evident here.

In fact, Harry does not appear in any scene in the series. Nor your children.

The couple continues to protect the privacy of Archie and Lilibet, while presenting their lifestyle.

There are no references to their previous lives as members of royalty. However, we find out what Meghan misses most in the United Kingdom.

The answer? Magic Radio radio station. “I’m sorry to say that publicly, but this is a season for grandmas,” says Tan France. “I will be this grandmother,” replies Meghan.

The ‘Lifestyle Empire’

Meghan series welcomes guests like Chrissy Teigan –
Netflix

“With Love, Meghan” has been widely seen as the Duchess’s relaunch, while she builds her new lifestyle empire.

Despite being the tenth most globally -watched Netflix program in its first week, the public gave the first season a 32% rating on the movie and television critic site, Rotten Tomatoes (based on over 2,500 votes).

The criticism was varied. The British newspaper The Guardian described him as a “dull lifestyle”, while another British vehicle, Telegraph, gave him two stars and classified him as “insane” and an “exercise of narcissism.”

However, the correspondent for BBC royalty matters Sean Coughlan wrote that it was “escapism,” adding, “It’s a glass of something sparkling on a gray day.”

The TV show was followed by the launch of the new brand of Meghan, the Ever, which sells, among other things, edible flower petals and wild flower jars.

Then came his podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder (confessions of a founder, free translation).

And earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan signed a new multiannual contract for Netflix movies and TV shows.

It is a more flexible agreement than the previous one, but refutes the allegations that Sussex and Netflix will separate completely.

Royalty expert Victoria Murphy says that, for Meghan, in person, her TV show is “very important … in terms of how she wants to be seen and the type of public presence she wants to have in the future.”

And, as with everything Meghan does, the reactions to the second season of the series will probably be mixed.

If you don’t like Meghan, you will probably not like it. But if you are a fan of Meghan, you will love it.
