Cardi B Deletes Twitter Account After Criticism For Not Attending Grammys

by

Rapper Cardi B, 29, deleted her official Twitter account during the Grammys ceremony, which took place this Sunday (3). The artist did not attend the awards and, after receiving criticism from netizens, she decided to delete her profile on the social network.

“I’m deleting my Twitter, but by God I hate these idiot fans”, wrote the artist before deleting the account. She was nominated for best rap performance, but the award went to “Family Ties”, a song by Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar.

The discussion with fans began after she shared a tweet from a fan supporting her decision not to attend the 2022 Grammys. However, the discussion took another turn when a netizen complained that the singer “keeps teasing us and never releasing music”.

Cardi B then explained why she didn’t attend the ceremony. “I don’t go to an awards show if I don’t have a new song to play or my album doesn’t come out,” she wrote. According to the website Page Six, it is not yet known whether the decision is temporary or permanent.

The singer also said that the decision was for her own safety. “I need to protect myself,” she stated. Furthermore, the rapper’s Instagram page is also unavailable.

Recently, the singer took the risk of being a tattoo artist and registered the date of her wedding to her husband, rapper Offset, 30, in celebration of Valentine’s Day. “I’m going to do something crazy for my husband,” she said before the experience.

Cardi B’s attempt as a tattoo artist is in the new episode of her Facebook Watch show, Cardi Tries, this Friday (11). A snippet of the attraction was posted by the singer on her Instagram account. Netizens commented excitedly, with even requests for her to tattoo them too.

In the episode, the couple visits a tattoo parlor and there Cardi B warns her husband that she doesn’t just want to get a tattoo with him, but that she wants to get the design on him. “You should trust me, I’m your wife!” she tells the rapper.

After doing a few rounds of training on tattooable faux fur while being coached by Offset’s tattoo artist Nico Hurtado, Cardi then tattoos her wedding date numbers –9/20/17– onto Offset’s hand. “Actually, I did really well!” she says proudly.

The two have been married since 2017 and have two children together. The rapper is also the father of Kalea and Kody, 6, and Jordan, 11, from past relationships.
