To Metsovo We visited the Folklore Museum of Tsanaka, where we met the Vlachs of the area. They talked to us about their lives, how they keep their traditions alive, their costumes and their delicious pies. They also talked to us in their dialect that is declining over time, but keep it in their hearts and want to learn the younger generations.

To Milotades of Ioanninathe school bell rang this year for just three children in elementary school and three in kindergarten. The school functions as a school center for 12 whole villages. And yet, the students are few, and this year in Epirus there was a padlock on 38 primary school schools due to lack of students.

We know Kostas and Anna, a couple whose love for Zitsa made them saved a settlement that dominated the livestock and primary sector, but due to demographic withering, he had begun to fade. Kostas’ love for the place he grew up, combined with Anna’s love for him when he visited the area as a tourist 16 years ago, led them to a venture aimed at returning families to Zitsa.
