“Portrait of a man who simply refuses to give up” is characterized by the feature documentary that examines the last chapter of the “Prince of Darkness” Ozi Osborn.
“Ozzy: No Escape From Now” was released yesterday by Paramount+ and has been considering Osborne for the last six years, from his battle with Parkinson’s disease to his farewell to Villa Park, Birmingham, including moments from the backstage of the historical concert.
In collaboration with the Osborne family and the MTV Entertainment Studios, the two -hour film includes interviews with his wife Ozi, Sharon and his children, Amy, Kelly and Jack Osborn.
Executive producer Phil Alexander said the film was a “study in durability”, which allowed Osborne to express where it was and how it felt.
According to the BBC, the producer explained that the film could never have been done without Sharon Osborn’s participation and sincerity.
He said the star’s family had a key role, adding that the goal was to record their journey and see what they themselves went through.
“You see all the vulnerabilities. You see the impact on the family’s repetitive health problems of Ozi and you see the effect they have on him, but you also see the impact they have on his music, “he said.
In the documentary there are scenes from the historic farewell concert of Osborne, with great rock artists gathering to honor Heavy Metal’s pioneer.
“There is genuine respect and love. Many of these types remember how they changed their lives when they were children. Billy Korgan was very upset. James Hetfield was really emotionally charged. It means so much in so many different ways. It was a great time for me, to see Ozi watching these truly great artists singing his songs in front of him. And they were really nervous, you felt that. But I think they said some very nice things, and everyone really meant it, “British director Tania Alexander told Variety in an interview.
Ozi Osborne died in July, at the age of 76, weeks after the farewell concert of Black Sabbath.
Thousands of fans gathered to say the last goodbye to Osborne in his city of origin, Birmingham.
