Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel keep their children away from screens. The top model revealed that she and the Snapchat founder have specific rules when it comes to screen time with Hart, 7, Miles, 6, and Pierre, 19 months, as well as her 14-year-old son Flynn, who she shares with ex-husband Orlando Bloom.

“My husband is very against screens on young children because that’s how he grew up.” Kerr said in the exclusive quote to E! News from the Oct. 20 episode of Dear Media’s “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show” podcast, co-hosted by Michael and Lorraine Bostick.

However, he explained that they managed to reach a small compromise for their older sons. “I told him, ‘I think it would be nice, maybe on the weekend or on some special occasion, to get together with the older kids and Flynn, if he wants, and watch a movie together.’ And he said, ‘OK, but not every weekend,'” Kerr said.

A recent exception to the rule was given during summer vacation, when 7-year-old Hart participated in an educational program where he learned “a little bit of Minecraft.” But the rules are different for young Flynn, who got a cell phone at the age of 13 and communicates with his friends only through Snapchat.

Kerr highlighted the fact that the platform — which Evan founded in 2011 — offers apps like “Family Center” and “The Keys” that “explain some of the dangers that appear online.”

“You watch them with them explaining in a simple way what can go wrong or how to prevent it and when to reach out to someone if you feel something is not right. This is the way we do it at home”he concluded.
