Eric Daneis set to star in the NBC medical drama, “Brilliant Minds” in a role with particular emotional weight as it reflects his own personal battle. The famous actor, who six months ago revealed that he suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)will play a patient with the exact same disease, in the ninth episode of the second season.
In particular, he will play Matthew, a heroic firefighter who finds it difficult to disclose to his own family the diagnosis of ALS and asks for the help of Dr. Oliver Wolf (the protagonist of the series played by Zachary Quinto).

“At the end of the day, all I want is to spend time with my family and work a little if I can”he said in June during an interview with “Good Morning America” and Diane Sawyer. “I don’t believe this is the end of my story”Dane had added.
It is worth noting that the actor did not stop working after the diagnosis. He has resumed filming for the third season of HBO’s ‘Euphoria’, which is expected to premiere in 2026, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.
