Actress Juliana Paes, 43, celebrated the showing of the scene in which her character from the soap opera “Pantanal” (Globo), Maria Marruá, becomes a jaguar. On her Instagram, the artist shared a montage that put her face on the animal’s body.
“Who was it?” she wrote, asking who would have done the montage. “Maria became a jaguar! Too happy here! Thank you”, completed the actress in the caption. In the comments, fans and netizens also celebrated the scene of the 21h soap opera. “I’m a big fan”, wrote Ivete Sangalo. “You are awesome”, completed Sabrina Sato.
Recently, Juliana commented on the process of building the character, who in the first version of the novel was played by Cassia Kis. “We live in this sometimes very aesthetic universe and I have received many questions in this sense: what it is like to see yourself aged or mistreated”, she commented. “It seems that the spirit of the question comes in the sense of ‘what is it like to make this effort?’
“It’s not an effort, quite the opposite,” he guaranteed, in a press conference in which the F5 participated. “It is gratifying to be able to let go of vanity, of the current aesthetic. And, more than letting go, to see beauty in it. I see beauty in it: in the dark circles under the eyes, in the white hair, I see poetry in these marks of time.”
The strength of the character, which continues despite everything, is what makes Maria Marruá considered by many people as a woman who turns into a jaguar. Juliana explains that in this remake of the novel, this transformation will have even more aura of mystery.
“Perhaps in this version the Pope [o diretor artístico Rogério Gomes] chose to work even more with this mystery, with this doubt: does she really turn or is this talk from local people?”, he says. “We won’t see any ‘X-Men’ style scenes, a complete transformation happening. I think this choice was a hit, because working on this perception, as each character talks about this woman who turns into a jaguar, is a nice flavor to see.”
