Only a few rock star wardrobes stand the test of time – free of clunky trends, fashion clichés and bad style. Even fewer retain this trait over a 50-year career. One of them is the “Boss” himself, the Bruce Springsteen (Bruce Springsteen).
The biopic “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” takes us back to the fall of 1981, when the 31-year-old Springsteen – after a hugely successful ‘The River’ album tour – retreated to a small house near his childhood home in New Jersey to record his ‘Nebraska’ album.
The film sheds light on the life and career of the legendary rock star, starring Jeremy Allen White. Written and directed by Scott Cooper, it focuses on the making of the iconic album ‘Nebraska’, as the singer, then a young artist, struggled to reconcile the pressures of success with the ‘ghosts’ of his past. The film also touches on the troubled relationship with his father, a World War II veteran who struggled with alcoholism and mental health issues.
Much of this sentiment is also conveyed through the artist’s attire, with Levi’s jeans, leather jackets with turned-up collars, plaid shirts and vests. The film’s costume designer, Kasia Walicka-Maimone, revealed that many of the clothes worn by Jeremy Allen White were borrowed from Bruce Springsteen’s wardrobe.
Although 76 years old, the rock star continues to tour the world. Earlier this year, he completed the biggest act of his career, selling 4.9 million tickets, at more than 100 concerts around the world and earning, according to the international day, 543 million pounds. How does he do this, many of his fans wonder. “I lift a few weights to keep my tone. I might be walking up the aisle. I’m walking – I’m not running anymore”he told Apple Music in 2021.

Springsteen eats one meal a day. He said to the newspaper “The Times” in 2024: “I eat some fruit in the morning and normal food in the evening. This keeps me lean and fit. I don’t eat a lot and I don’t eat bad food except once in a while when I want to have a little fun. Exercise is always important, of course, but nutrition is 90% of the game.”he added.
