The 33-year-old British actor George McKay he regularly appears on bookmakers’ shortlists for his iconic role James Bondas successor to Daniel Craig. In fact, the Guardian has described him as a person with “that look that combines vague malice with vague ability” and “a dose of eccentric enigmatic”.

Earlier this year, commentator and writer Mark O’Connell also called him an “interesting” option who “has talent”. It also helps that she starred alongside a James Bond girl, Léa Seydoux, in the 2023 film The Beast.

Now, at the premiere of his new film ‘& Sons’ at the BFI London Film Festival, McKay has responded to long-running speculation linking him with the role of James Bond, saying he is flattered to be considered a possible successor to Craig.

When asked about it, the actor couldn’t help but smile.

“Come now. I mean Bond. Yeah, sure,” he laughed.

When asked if he has been approached for the role he replied (not): “I couldn’t say… No, I won’t say anything more than that.”

“But, it’s nice to be in the game, you know? And what role? I like Denis Villeneuve he is top notch. So yes, of course.”
