At the beginning of his career, actor Idris Elba, 49, already sold marijuana to pay his bills. That’s what he himself revealed in an interview with The Jess Cagle Show (watch below).
“I used to sell weed. I did it for a little while, just to help make ends meet,” he revealed in the interview before saying he also worked as a DJ.
Despite having studied arts in London and even having had opportunities in the area, he saw that financial problems would be a problem.
“It all fell on my face too fast, [foi assim] for about four years. And in that period I did a lot of things, some of which I’m not proud of,” he said.
Having already worked at a comedy club, Elba revealed that he even sold the drug to the famous comedian David Chappelle. “He remembers me because he used to buy weed with me,” he added.
