More from 300 teenagers from her schools Thessalonikirepresenting nineteen theatrical groups of the city, go on stage for two weekends of “Olympion”, in the context of the 1st Festival of teenage theater groups, “U_th festival”. Along with the students from Thessaloniki, their works will present theatrical groups from schools in Italy, France, Spain, Poland and Romania.
The “U_th festival”to be held on 9-10 and on April 16-17, 2022is a co-organization of the Cultural Center of the Region of Central Macedonia and the Antikrisi Theater Company, with the support of the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
The idea was hers Domnas Chournazidou and Nikolas Maragopoulos from the “opposition”, who discerned the dynamics of teenage theater when they started workshops aimed at this age group. The Cultural Center immediately “embraced” the idea and the goal of the organizers is to develop into an institution for the city.
Mr. Maragopoulos speaks about an emotional response and participation. “We could not imagine how many groups are involved in teenage theater,” he notes, adding that the Festival is an opportunity to highlight the reason why young people articulate theatrically and get to know each other’s work.
The teenage theatrical groups – groups participate:
-1st High School of Pylea, 2nd GEL of Ampelokipi, 2nd Model of GEL Thessaloniki “White Tower”
-2nd Model High School of Thessaloniki, Experimental School of the University of Thessaloniki High School, KIPOS AMKE, Lyric Small Planet,
-Experimental High School of the University of Macedonia, AUTh Experimental School,
-CHANTH, Crazy theater of the Cultural Association of Oreokastro “In action”,
-Dream troupe of the Arts Association “Muses of Action”,
– “Melina Mercouri” of the Municipality of Neapolis-Sykea,
– “Hello” of the Association of Paranestians of Thessaloniki,
-The Circle of Melpomene, “Andreas Voutsinas”, 2nd GEL of Oreokastro,
-Antiqresi Theater Company and Erasmus group (from schools in Italy, France, Spain and Poland.
The opening ceremony is on Saturday, April 9 at 11:30 at the Olympion, while during the four days of the event, the performances will be from 12 noon to 8 pm. The entrance is free.
