Producer and actress Tish Cyrus, 54, filed for divorce proceedings with Billy Ray Cyrus, 60, last week in Tennessee. The two have been together for 30 years and are the parents of five children, including Miley, 29, and Noah Cyrus, 22.
TMZ obtained the divorce documents, in which Tish says the couple has not lived together in more than two years and that they have “irreconcilable differences”. The producer still asks the court to distribute the marital assets equally.
Some family fans suspected there could be some trouble in the marriage, as Billy Ray was absent in photos and videos of celebrations posted by Tish and her children. This is the third time the couple has filed for divorce, the last two being in 2012 and 2010. However, the last two were canceled shortly after they were filed.
Miley recently called her short marriage to actor Liam Hemsworth, 32, a “disaster”. She classified the relationship like this at the Lollapalooza festival, while helping a couple get engaged during her show, which featured Anitta, 28.
Miley brought a gay couple on stage so they could propose. “Honey, I hope your marriage is better than mine,” said the artist in jest. “Mine was a c disaster.”, she completed.
The artist and the actor began their relationship in 2008, after starring in the movie “The Last Song”. Years later, Miley even revealed that she lost her virginity to Hemsworth at the age of 16. “I didn’t go all the way with a guy until I was 16, but I ended up marrying the guy,” she said on a 2020 episode of Barstool Sports.
They got engaged in 2012, but broke up the following year. In 2015, they resumed the relationship and got married in December 2018, but decided to separate after less than a year of marriage. The news that the couple had split became public after Miley was photographed kissing Kaitlynn Carter.
