Singer Anitta, 29, chose a green and yellow look to start her presentation at the California Coachella festival. However, she also did some costume changes on stage and drove fans wild.
Before the show, Anitta said that she wanted to represent Brazil and the favela in the United States at the event, which is one of the most traditional and famous in the world. The performance was recorded by the festival’s YouTube channel.
The scenario represented the community with speakers, motorcycles and the vibe found in funk dances in Rio. At least 40 dancers took part in the performances.
Right from the start, the Brazilian received rapper Snoop Dogg to sing with her “Onda Different”. Then it was Saweetie’s turn to take the stage to sing “Faking Love”. And of course she couldn’t miss the top 1 hit in the world “Envolver”, in addition to the Spanish song “Me Gusta”.
But the show wasn’t just about hits in other languages. Anitta took her Brazilian hits to the stage, such as “Vai, Malandra”, “Bola Rebola” and “Movimento da Sanfoninha”.
Famous Brazilians are in the United States to enjoy the event such as Jade Picon, Bianca Andrade, Isabeli Fontana, Di Ferrero, Camilla de Lucas, Agatha Moreira, Rodrigo Simas and Sasha Meneghel.
With shows that repeat each weekend, Coachella takes place from April 15 to 17 and April 22 to 24, in the city of Indio, California. Anitta’s concerts will take place on Fridays, the 15th and 22nd, and Pabllo Vittar’s on Saturdays, the 16th and 23rd.
The organization of Coachella announced that the coverage of the event will still have exclusive interviews with the artists, behind-the-scenes footage, raffles and other attractions for those who follow the virtual broadcast. An online store was also announced through the YouTube Shopping platform for fans to buy festival gifts.
This edition of the festival will be the first since a series of cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic – first, in April 2020, a date that was rescheduled to October of the same year and then moved to April 2021, which was also postponed.
Artists spearheading performances at the event include Kanye West, Billie Eilish, Harry Stiles, Swedish House Mafia and Doja Cat.
