Concerns about Yokeres’ goalkeeping: He has missed a goal for eight games!

by

THE Victor Yokeres acquired this season from Arsenal and it was a sensational transfer, considered by many to be the best in Europe. Things haven’t started off the best for the Swede on the Island though, with him looking nothing like the player he was at Sporting Lisbon.

Acquired by “gunners” against 73 million euros, an amount that, given the market data, seemed like a “year’s worth”. The Londoners and the football world in general thought that by acquiring him, Arsenal would solve their attacking problem.

The 27-year-old striker, however, has so far failed to live up to the expectations that accompanied his name, as he remains scoreless in eight matches and over 600 minutes. In particular, he achieved his last goal on September 13 against Nottingham Forest in the Gunners’ 3-0 victory.

It is characteristic that this year he has played in a total of 10 matches in England and scored only three goals, while he also presents a bad image with his national team, as he has not found the net in four appearances for the World Cup qualifiers.

However, despite its non-adjustment so far, h Arsenal remains first in the league and seems to have the luxury of giving Yokeres some time in order for him to find his good self again.
