Ícaro Silva, 34, and Rainer Cadete, 34, were the stars of the Meninos Rei fashion show, which opened the SPFW program this Thursday (18th). Backstage, the interpreters of Joseph and Visky in “Secret Truths 2” (Globoplay) avoided talking too much about the departure of colleague Camila Queiroz, 28, announced on Wednesday (17).
“I don’t have what to say about it, I don’t know what happened,” says Icarus to F5. “[Foi] a big surprise,” adds Rainer. “It’s still being, I’m trying to figure it out.”
The actors were quite happy with their participation in the fashion event, especially due to the diversity of bodies shown on the runway, and also with the repercussion of the plot, which speaks precisely about the fashion universe.
“Although I’ve shown two other shows here at SPFW, this is the first time I’ve shown in the Sankofa project [que tem o objetivo de racializar a moda brasileira]”, comments Ícaro. “This project is very special because it finally brings a cultural integration to the fashion scene, which we need to have for Brazil to keep moving. I think we have a cultural plurality that we don’t need to mimic anything from the outside, we have a lot to offer. We are the reference.”
Rainer already celebrated being crossing the catwalk for the first time. “It’s always been a dream, I’ve always had the dream of walking, ever since I was a teenager,” he reveals. “My body was never accepted to be paraded on a catwalk, I did many castings [seleções] and never passed. Being there among these people was very strong, very emotional, I will never forget that moment.”
The two actors work together a lot in “Secret Truths 2”, as their characters have an affair. “Icaro has been my friend for many years, I always wanted to work with him”, celebrates Rainer. “We have a lot of fun on the scene, we have an absurd partnership, our game is unique.”
Icaro said he is surprised by the audience’s return. “‘Secret Truths’ is resonating in such a positive way, people are enjoying my character so much, so it’s a very special moment for me,” he says. “I wasn’t in season one, I didn’t know what it was like with the audience, but I’m really stoked.”
Rainer is again in the skin of the “booker” (scout) who stole the show since the first season. “It’s like I met an old friend,” he compares. “And now I see the audience meeting him too, and liking it, and cheering. He [voltou] with more punch, with more prominence, with more space in the plot, with his love story.”
”It’s a character that teaches me a lot about the freedom to be what he is, and the potency that has,” he says. “This has a lot to do with this parade of today and with this movement that is taking place at ant steps – which is very essential and necessary – to get out of this colonialist patriarchy, this narrative that sickens men, society.”
