Comedian and broadcaster Howard Stern, 68, said Johnny Depp, 58, is being narcissistic and exaggerating in his testimony against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, 36, at the ex-couple’s defamation trial, which is broadcast. on various platforms since April 11.

“The reason he wanted this — to be televised — is because that’s what narcissists do,” Stern said on his SiriusXM radio show, in an excerpt reproduced by Variety. “They think they can get rid of anything,” he added.

“I think Johnny Depp is a big narcissist and what I mean by that is – he thought, ‘I’m going to put this on TV and because I’m so persuasive and because I’m so smart, I’m a wonderful guy.’ Stern further said that Depp would be “acting out and overreacting because he’s writing his own stuff as he goes along”.

The comedian also said that he thinks it was a mistake for the actor to have decided to broadcast the judgment and that it will not save his career. “It’s not going well for you, it’s not going well for her. It’s not going well for anyone. You sound like two kids fighting.”

Depp concluded his interrogation on Monday (25), the eighth day of hearings in the case. The trial focuses on a lawsuit the actor brought against Heard, who wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post in 2018, saying she had become a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.
