Elon Musk: Does not testify in Johnny Depp-Amber Heard scandal

Last Wednesday, Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, told NBC that the tycoon, founder of the space company SpaceX and the electric car company Tesla, “will not testify.”

Musk was recorded as a possible witness during the preliminary investigation, as he had a relationship with actress and model Amber Heard for a year after her divorce from Depp, in January 2016.

Herd met Musk on the set of the 2013 film Machete Kills, and the businessman insisted on having dinner with her, even though she knew she was dating Depp at the time.

“I’m not looking for a date. “I know she’s in a long-term relationship, but ‘Amber just looks like an interesting person to meet,'” Musk said in an email to director Robert Rodriguez and others received by The Hollywood Reporter.

Musk’s name was mentioned during Depp’s defamation case in the United Kingdom against the tabloids because he was called “the man who beats his wife” when the protagonist of the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” said that Musk and Hearn they were in a relationship while they were still married.

“Elon and Amber started dating in May 2016 and very rarely,” Musk’s spokesman told E! News. “Their relationship became romantic a little later.”

While Musk will not take part in the legal dispute, Depp’s former agent Christian Carino testified at the trial. Among many others, actors James Franco and Paul Bethany are expected to testify.

Depp sued Herd for an article published in the Washington Post in March 2019. The article portrayed the actress as a victim of domestic violence, although she did not name Johnny Depp. The trial is expected to last six weeks and is currently in its third week.
