Athens, April 28, 2022 – The award-winning sports tourism event Navarino Challenge, celebrates its 10th year this year by uniting people of all ages and abilities through sports.
Amateur and professional athletes from Greece and abroad will be on October 21-23, 2022, in Costa Navarino and Pylos, Messinia.
Follow in the footsteps of Telemachus
Participants in the Navarino Challenge, have the opportunity to run in one of the top Half Marathons 21.1km. in Greece, together with the Greek-American ultra-marathon runner Konstantinos Karnazis and to cross the beautiful beach of Voidokilia following the path set by Telemachus in search of Odysseus according to Homeric tradition, in the homeland of King Nestor. At the same time, they can choose between the 10km route. or the fun 5km route, which they can follow even with a dynamic walk.
On the same day, the 1km children’s route will be held in two groups, for children 10-14 years old and children up to 9 years old.
Participants in the run can move immediately and take advantage of the early bird offers that are valid until July 31 with a discount of over 50%. The children’s race is held without participation costs. The event, always giving priority to the athletes themselves, offers the possibility of a refund from cancellation of registrations, until September 1st. Kayak ride in the bay of Pylos
Starting point the Poseidonia Restaurant, known for its traditional Greek cuisine and local delicacies in the port of Pylos, on Saturday, October 22, there will be a kayak ride on the island of Sfaktiria with the support of Explore Messinia. The participants will paddle in the bay of Navarino and will explore the coastline of Sfaktiria.

Take part in the beach volleyball tournament overlooking the Ionian Sea
Overlooking the dunes and crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea, The Dunes Beach in Costa Navarino’s Navarino Dunes will once again host the Navarino Challenge King of the Court Beach Volley Tournament. The Olympic sport of beach volleyball returns with the ambassador the former Greek international volleyball player and record holder of participations with the National Team of Greece, Michalis Triantaphyllidis. On Saturday, October 22, the tournament will include separate categories for men and women, while on Sunday, October 23, the tournament will be mixed. Tennis at the Mouratoglou Tennis Center Costa Navarino
Participants in the Navarino Challenge will have the opportunity to attend tennis clinics for 6 to 9 year olds and 10 to 13 year olds as well as to participate in the Round Robbin tennis tournaments for men and women, which will be held with the support of Mouratoglou Tennis Center Costa Navarino under the guidance of top coaches. Costa Navarino is the first European site to host the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, while the new state-of-the-art facilities feature a total of 16 tennis courts in the Navarino Dunes area, overlooking the Ionian Sea.
