Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, 47, praised the singer Anitta, 29, after talking to her at the Met Gala 2022 ball, which took place this Monday (2), about the importance of young Brazilians taking their voter registration. On his Twitter, he talked about the artist in a text written in Portuguese.
“Anitta’s commitment to democracy is inspiring. Talking to talented artists committed to helping save the planet gives me hope for a better future. Listen to Anitta and get your title by 23:59 today”, he wrote, in response to a tweet by the artist.
He then reinforced the importance of young Brazilians voting. “Young 16 and 17 year olds have the power to help build Brazil’s future. To exercise this power, you need to register to vote by 11:59 pm today. Get your title online,” he tweeted.
The singer had already revealed that she talked a lot with the actor at the event. Also on her Twitter, she reported that she spent “hours with Leo DiCaprio talking about the importance of young people taking their voter registration”. She reinforced that the actor “knows more about the importance of our Amazon rainforest than the president of Brazil”.
In recent weeks, there has been a movement of artists and celebrities encouraging young people to take the title. Anitta, LuÃsa Sonza and Juliette Freire and even Hollywood actors Mark Ruffalo and Mark Hamill used their social networks for this purpose, the latter more than once.
