Journalists Tiago Leifert and Daiana Garbin updated this Friday afternoon (6) the health status of their daughter, Lua, who was diagnosed with eye cancer, a retinoblastoma. According to them, at least five children have already achieved early diagnosis after the warning video made by the couple in January.
“There was a very important thing that happened. We had a lot of people who were diagnosed before what would have been, at least five children, because of that first video. That was what we wanted, it was our main objective, to declare war on the disease”, he says on video.
Lua has already undergone seven chemotherapy sessions, but it is still too early to talk about a cure. “The condition of the Moon is considered stable, the disease is stable. Our little one went through a lot, there were seven sessions of intra-arterial chemotherapy, plus a brachytherapy surgery, which is radiotherapy inside the eye, the baby stays for three days hospitalized”, says Diana.
But none of this, according to them, made the child lose joy. “Our little one is always happy, jumping, she is very strong. So what we can tell you is that at this moment the situation is stable and we still need to observe very closely. GRAAC, take exams, look closely”, amended the journalist.
