Joe Maldonado-Passage, 58, Joe Exotic from “The Tiger Mafia” (Netflix), has been transferred to a federal medical center for inmates in North Carolina that offers cancer treatment. In early November, he announced on his social networks that he has an aggressive type of prostate cancer.

According to People, Joe Exotic was transferred by private plane to Butner Federal Medical Center between Tuesday night (16) and Wednesday morning (17). He was even at a medical center for inmates in Texas.

Joe has been in jail since 2018 for mistreatment of animals and for ordering the murder of activist Carole Baskin.

“He is one of the most passionate and full of life clients I have ever had the pleasure of representing,” wrote attorney John M. Phillips in a statement released Saturday (20).

Phillips stated that he last spoke with Joe on November 1st. “The PSA test is a blood test used primarily to screen for prostate cancer. It was high months ago. He finally did biopsies, which revealed two cancerous areas. He’s being retested.”

The diagnosis of prostate cancer was revealed by Joe on Instagram. At the time, he wrote: “Guys, it’s with a sad face that I must say the doctors called me today with the news that my prostate biopsy has come back with aggressive cancer, I’m still waiting for the results of another test as well.”
