Young people aged 12 to 17 will have a booster dose against Covid in the city of São Paulo

The city of São Paulo will apply the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to adolescents aged 12 to 17 years from this Monday (30).

The booster will be applied to those who received the second dose at least four months ago. Pfizer and Coronavac immunizers will be used.

Vaccination will take place throughout the municipal health network from 7 am to 7 pm, and megaposts and drive-thrus, from 8 am to 5 pm.

The City of São Paulo obtained authorization from the Ministry of Health to complete the vaccination of the public aged between 12 and 17 years. Since February, the booster dose was planned only for adolescents with compromised immunity.

According to municipal management, 978,330 first doses and 876,506 second doses were administered to the entire public aged between 12 and 17, with coverage of 115.9% and 103.8%, respectively.​
