Starting this Thursday (25), the Butantan Institute, in partnership with the Municipal Health Department of São Paulo, promotes a testing action for the diagnosis of Covid-19 in asymptomatic people.
The RT-PCR exam will be held at seven points across the city of São Paulo until December 17th. Those over 18 can participate.
The collection points are: Congonhas airport, Largo Treze, UBS Dr. Manoel Saldiva Neto, Tietê bus station, São Paulo Municipal Market and São Miguel Paulista Municipal Market — the Faria Lima subway will also have a tent, but there the activity has not started yet.
For the test, the participant needs to go to one of the collection points, from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There, you must inform registration data, such as name and means of contact.
According to the institute, the objective is to identify asymptomatic cases and isolate them, so that the contaminated ones are not a risk to other people.
In addition, it is a way of tracking whether the virus is circulating more silently at a time of advances in vaccination and a drop in the number of cases and deaths due to the coronavirus.
The samples will be analyzed at Instituto Butantan. Results must be available within 24 hours of collection.
In case of a positive result, the sample will be sent for genomic sequencing, in order to discover which is the coronavirus variant in question.
