Brazil recorded 335 deaths from Covid and 74,309 cases of the disease this Wednesday (6). With that, the country reached 672,829 lives lost and 32,685,139 infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Acre, Mato Grosso do Sul, Roraima did not register any deaths. Amapá did not update the data.
The moving average of deaths is 234 per day, an increase of 88.70% compared to two weeks ago. The average number of infections reached 57,399 per day, a growth of 41.10%.
The country’s data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate figures related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.
According to data from the state health departments, in the last 24 hours, 22,916 first doses and 57,232 second doses were applied. 262,749 booster shots were also recorded.
Thus, in all, 179,233,608 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen vaccine, there are already 167,848,116 people with both doses or with one dose of Janssen vaccine.
Thus, the country already has 83.43% of the population with the 1st dose and 78.13% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.
Acre, Amapá, Paraná and Rio de Janeiro did not update vaccines.
To date, 96,320,931 people have taken the third dose and 15,602,886 have received the fourth.
The consortium also gathers the record of vaccine doses administered to children. The population aged 5 to 11 years partially immunized (with only the first dose of vaccine received) is 63.67%, totaling 13,051,509. In the same age group, 39.18% (8,031,160) received the second dose or the single dose.
Vaccination data against Covid-19 was affected by the hacker attack on the Ministry of Health system, which took place in December, which led to the lack of updates in several states for long periods of time.
