3,040 monkeypox vaccines have arrived in Belgium, sudinfo website reports, citing information from the Belga news agency.
“This is a tangible result of the European Health Union”, underlined the Health and Food Safety Commissioner Stella Kyriakidou, the website notes. Ms. Kyriakidou points out that “thanks to the rapid response of the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA), the first deliveries of 3,040 monkeypox vaccines have arrived in Belgium to protect Belgian citizens and fight this epidemic”.
She adds that “through HERA, we have bought vaccines for all member states in need. Within two weeks, we funded around 110,000 doses and started deliveries to the worst affected countries, including Spain, Germany, Portugal and Belgium. Additional deliveries will be made in the coming weeks.”
