Company in Vinhedo (SP) buys Covid vaccine for employees

by

Employees of an automobile company located in Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo, were vaccinated against Covid-19 with doses purchased by the private network.

About 120 employees of Neo Rodas, who work in São Paulo, were immunized with the AstraZeneca vaccine earlier this month. The action was carried out in partnership between the AstraZeneca laboratory and Vittal Médica, the company responsible for the application of doses.

Vittal Médica says it is the first corporate vaccination against Covid in the country.

Neo Rodas, a factory of the ABG Brasil Group, has around 1,500 employees spread across the country. The intention, according to the company, is to gradually vaccinate all employees.

Immunization was optional and, according to the company, the average number of vaccinated employees was in the age group of 38 years, following the vaccination rule imposed by the Ministry of Health.

According to Vittal Médica, the procedure was supported by the federal government regulation of May this year that authorized the marketing of the coronavirus vaccine to the private network.

On April 22, the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) announced the end of the health emergency in the country. By rule, 30 days after the decision, clinics and private companies were able to acquire vaccines against Covid-19 without the need to donate to SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde).

Until then, the private network could already acquire the immunizations against Covid, but it was obliged to donate everything to the public system.

At the company, the health team had the support of a van equipped with access to the SUS (Unified Health System) database.

“As the Mobile Health Unit was connected to the Ministry of Health website, an online check was carried out on the vaccination status of each employee: number of doses received so far and the date of the last dose applied, for example”, he said. the CEO of Vittal Diagnósticos e Vacinas, Renato Ávilla.

“The vaccine was offered free of charge, aiming at the health and well-being of our employees. We think of it as a way of encouraging immunization, facilitating access for all”, the financial director of ABG Brasil, Ricardo Guerini, told the report.

The company representative also said that, in addition to the vaccine against Covid-19, the immunizing agent against the flu was offered.
