British research on Omicron: Probably resistant to vaccines and previous disease

by

“Red health alarm” has signaled in Britain, which does not stop counting new cases of the “Omicron” coronavirus variant, in the “shadow” of a worrying report that the mutation may be … antibody resistant.

According to the latest data, the country records 135 cases of the Omicron mutation.

Most are in England, followed by Scotland.

The UK Health Insurance Agency, an agency similar to that of EODY, in its internal risk classification has sounded the “red alert” for the Omicron variant because, as stated, theoretically, and based on the mutations identified in the variant, it can to resist antibodies, both from vaccines and from previous infection.

That is, the risk of re-infection is emphasized as we have seen in South Africa, while at the same time the strain can be resistant to the antibody cocktails prescribed by the British health system.

In any case, the British government estimates that existing vaccines will not be able to prevent infection or re-infection but will be able to protect against serious illness or death.
