Within the next two years, it is estimated that the construction of the new Oncology Hospital in the Karatassiou camp in Thessaloniki will begin, according to what was reported by the General Secretary of Health Services, Yannis Kotsiopoulos, speaking to journalists, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Ministry of Health’s pavilion, in 86th TEF.
“We are in the phase of preparation and maturation of the project. The studies are starting and at the same time we are working with the Ministry of the Environment to create the necessary local landscape plan to build the hospital. All these actions will be implemented immediately in the coming months with inter-ministerial cooperation. the administrative decisions will be made and at the same time we are preparing with all the involved bodies the specifications of the project, what this Oncology Hospital will be like. So it is a phase of hard work in the next two years until the selection of the contractor who will undertake its construction“, said Mr. Kotsiopoulos.
At the same time, he mentioned that a concession has started to be made by the Ministry of Defense where the first concession documents have arrived, noting that, however, there are other administrative acts that must be done, “We are within our timelines and will try to expedite the process. These are the studies, the specifications of the project, how exactly the hospital will be built, how many buildings, specifications of the machines, the surrounding area, everything that is needed so that the contractor can start building the project within the next two yearsadded Mr. Kotsiopoulos.
