Opinion – Cannabis Inc.: The Cannabis courses and events that mark September

by

A series of events make September a special month. There are good opportunities for those who want to better understand this cannabis world or simply keep up with the latest in the sector. In front of varied themes, renowned and experienced professionals present themselves free of charge.

The calendar began with two special classes promoted by Revivid, a cannabis medicine, this Wednesday, 14th, with neurosurgeon Pedro Pierro, who frequently gives training lectures in this area, and dentist Cynthia de Carlo. In October, on the 5th and 6th, there are more special classes. For more information, visit here.

On Friday, 16, from 9 am to 12 pm, the meeting “Right to health and medicinal plants” takes place at Sindimed (Doctors’ Union), in Salvador, Bahia. Despite being in person, the event will be broadcast for free via the link https://forms.gle/mmFyaTwaozBSYx7J6. One of the attractions is the participation of the father of Cannabis, the scientist Raphael Mechoulan, who discovered the active principle of marijuana, and the activist psychiatrist Eliane Nunes, director of Sbec (Brazilian Society for Cannabis Studies).

On the same day, Cannabis Thinking begins, which reaches its fourth edition, with a lineup of 75 specialists, spread over two days of event. Promoted by The Green Hub, the first accelerator specialized in the sector, the event will be held in São Paulo and broadcast free of charge on the internet. As in previous editions, there will be debate tables divided into the three floors of the company’s headquarters building, but which will take place simultaneously. “The objective of the event is to take a look at what is most current in the market”, says Marcel Grecco, partner at The Green Hub who is in charge of the Cannabis Thinking organization.

The number of speakers gives the exact dimension of how much business has grown. “There are not 75 unknown speakers. We have gathered strong participants”, says Alex Lucena, one of the founding partners of The Green Hub.

He refers, for example, to Patrícia Villela Marino, president of Instituto Humanitas360, ophthalmologist and influencer Claudio Lottenberg, partner at Zion Pharma, José Vicente, dean of the Zumbi dos Palmares University, indigenous leader Sônia Guajajara, Rogerio Schietti, minister of the Superior Court of Justice, and lawyer Rodrigo Mesquita, who was one of the legal advisors for the writing of PL 399-2015.

In addition to the panel discussions, guests will meet the finalist startups of this year’s The Green Hub acceleration project. To learn more about the event, visit https://cannabisthinking.com.br/

Another tip is to keep an eye on the Unifesp (Federal University of São Paulo) website, which regularly conducts cannabis courses. On Wednesday, the 14th, the institution together with the Nucleus for Development in Cannabinoid and Integrative Medicine launched the Cannabic Panel, scheduled to have seven more lectures until December. The next one is scheduled for next Wednesday, the 28th. Interested parties will be able to register and participate in the next Youtube classes of the Cannabinoid Medicine Development Center.

The first was a presentation on some of the main actors, who helped to build the history of the cannabis medicine in Brazil, such as Unifesp professor Elisaldo Carline, who died exactly two years ago, and patients’ parents, such as Katiele and Norberto Fischer. The two obtained the first authorization to import cannabis medicine at Anvisa (Health Surveillance Agency) in Brazil, for her daughter Anny, in 2014.
