When the vehicle passes the first few years of operation, due to the vibrations of its movement, its connections acquire a vacuum, as a result of which the noises inside the cabin increase
Those who drive noisy cars are at risk of depression, according to a relevant survey of thousands of people that lasted four years.
The results of the survey showed that those exposed to traffic noise over 70 decibels (db) are at 65% greater risk of depression. Measurements have shown that the quieter a car is inside, the more competitive it is compared to the competition.
In fact, they prefer it up to 26% more than another car that is noisier. Of course all this has to do with the frequency of the noise and the position of the passenger inside the car. Ride quality is another key variable that affects the driving experience. The smoother the ride, the calmer the journey.
The two most important axes that affect driving relaxation during a trip are ride quality and the NVH index (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), where in the language of the car industry it means noise, vibration and speed.
Today most companies invest in this part during manufacturing, putting special foam materials to reduce the noise levels and thus raising the driving roll levels. Now models that are quite noisy on the go are criticized negatively and put at a disadvantage compared to the competition.
Usually, when the vehicle goes through the first years of operation, due to the vibrations of its movement, its connections acquire a vacuum, resulting in increased noises inside the cabin. In several cases, especially when the vehicle’s engine is particularly powerful or lately we see three-cylinder engines that are naturally noisier than a four-cylinder, more noise is produced, which can become tiring. On the other hand, poor factory sound insulation may bring about the same results.
When a high-quality sound system is installed in the vehicle, the owner naturally wants to enjoy the quality. But when there are audio losses things get complicated and external sounds may ruin the listening experience.
For every manufacturing company, the optimal solution is the use of soundproofing materials to soundproof the car. The use of soundproofing materials is done in specific parts, isolating the engine noises, but also the aerodynamic noises outside the cabin. Common places where soundproofing is applied are the bonnet, roof, windows, wheel arches, cab floor, storage area, tailgate and mirrors. Also, great importance is given to the points where there are connections to the engine and the cabin, where every source of noise is acoustically isolated, ensuring the maximum possible sound insulation.
