Between February and April, the enrollment and re-enrollment period, 966 registrations were canceled for undergraduate courses, 337 for graduate courses. stricto sensu and 8 for Lato sensu.
Proof of at least one dose of the vaccine was a condition for renewing the bond of former students and enrolling those approved in the selection processes for the 2022 academic year.
In a note, the university says it is “fundamental to point out that Unicamp’s decisions have passed through all administrative bodies and chambers that are composed of students, employees and professors. […] Today there are no active students at the university without proof of vaccination”.
The university has around 35,000 students enrolled in its undergraduate and graduate courses.
In addition, the institution highlights its resolution on vaccination published in 2021, in which it declares that “all regular undergraduate, graduate, extension and technical college students must, mandatorily, present proof of at least one dose of vaccine against Covid-19, prior to and as a condition of enrollment”.
To attend campus, a student must provide evidence of having received at least two doses.
Unicamp’s data were announced a few days after USP (University of São Paulo) removed the grade and attendance record of 275 students who did not prove that they had been vaccinated with at least two doses against Covid-19 from the system.
