City of SP dismisses three employees who refused to take vaccine against Covid

by

The City of São Paulo dismissed three employees who refused to take the Covid-19 vaccine. One of the layoffs was published in the Official Gazette this Saturday (30).

According to the Comptroller General of the Municipality, employees failed to comply with a decree that makes immunization mandatory for direct and indirect municipal administration employees.

The city hall made a data crossing between the employee sheet and the register of doses applied by the Municipal Health Department.

Servers who reside outside the capital of São Paulo, or have taken the vaccine doses in another municipality, will have to present proof.

The vaccine passport has become mandatory to enter the Matarazzo building, headquarters of the City Hall of São Paulo, since last Thursday (28).

“Proof of the vaccine is a measure that aims to ensure the safety of employees and the immunized population”, informed the administration of Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) in a statement.

The mandatory vaccination is not valid only for employees who present a medical certificate that justifies the impediment to be immunized.
