#Hashtag: ‘Your ex lives in your womb’, the post that sparked discussion about ‘mystical guilt’

by

This week, an Instagram post by the therapist Evy went viral on social media, saying: “your ex lives in your womb”. According to the message, the uterus would have the ability to keep memory of “everything we’ve experienced in love and in bed, in addition to our family history.”

The publication sparked discussion of “mystical moralism,” a way of setting limits on sex life and the pursuit of pleasure that looks a lot like conservative ideas like Christian guilt.

Messages such as “your body is a temple”, “be careful who you exchange energies with” and, most recently, “your ex lives in your womb” seem to be intended to convey the message that the sex life of people who have uterus (and were designated as women at birth) should not be very active so as not to “attract negative energies”.

You must have a limited number of sexual partners and guard your body as if it were sacred. Have you ever heard this speech elsewhere?

It is clear that every person —whether with or without uterus— has the right to have sex as they see fit and with anyone else, with consent, at all times. The subject generated interesting memes and discussions. See selection:

Does the opposite also apply?

Doubts are:

Business opportunity.

Only advantages.

Importantly, the menstruation process also serves as a cleansing of the uterus, since the walls of the uterus peel off every month when there is no fertilization. The only possibility of having someone living inside your uterus is during pregnancy. In this case, indeed, there is an embryo living there.

With protection and consent, there is no bad energy.
