Sta 55,242 the number of cases of coronavirus has increased in the last week, according to the report published by the EODY.

The number of people who died from complications of the disease it was 107while those intubated in the hospitals of the whole country are 74.

In the reporting week, 55,242 cases of COVID-19 were recorded (5,295 per million population: 8% weekly change) of which reinfections account for 21% of infections. The total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 5,081,981 of which 52.0% are women. 𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on cases is estimated at 0.97.

The total number of admissions to the territory’s hospitals in the reference week was 1,351 patients (7-month period: 193, 23% weekly change), while the total discharges amounted to 968 patients (7-month period: 138, 10 % weekly change).3 The number of intubated patients by the end of the reference week is 74 (58.1% men) with a median age of 73 years and 95.9% having an underlying disease and/or age of 70 years or older.

In the reference week, 107 deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded (10 per million population: -5% weekly change) of which 13 (12%) died after at least 29 days from the date of laboratory confirmation of the COVID-19 infection, while since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 33,426 deaths have been recorded, with 96.0% having an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The median age of the cases is 39 years, while the median age of the dead is 80 years.

In the reporting week, the positivity rate was 7.96% in a total of 694,171 laboratory tests (RT-PCR/Rapid-Ag) with a seven-day average of 99,167 samples (-1% weekly change).

From January 1, 2020 to October 16, 2022, a total of 12,791,198 have been tested in the laboratories that carry out tests for SARS-CoV-2 and that systematically declare all the samples they test (7-month AD: 9,765, -2 % weekly change) clinical samples while 83,439,471 samples have been tested by Health Units and Levels of the EODY that carry out Rapid Ag tests (7-month AD: 89,402, -1% weekly change).
