Brazil recorded, this Tuesday (18), 83 deaths from Covid and 8,856 cases of the disease. With this, the country reaches 687,376 lives lost and 34,805,068 infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is now 51 per day, a reduction of 40.69% compared to two weeks ago. The moving average of cases is 4,508 per day – a 33.53% reduction over the same period.

Alagoas, AmapĂ¡, EspĂrito Santo, Mato Grosso and Santa Catarina registered no deaths. In Sergipe, there were no cases and deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country’s data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate figures related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the state Health Departments.

In all, 181,874,335 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil.

Added to the single doses of Janssen vaccine, there are 171,032,781 people with both doses or with a dose of Janssen immunizer.

Thus, the country already has 84.66% of the population with the 1st dose and 79.61% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.

To date, 104,862,971 people have taken the third dose, and 34,319,559 the fourth.

ParanĂ¡, Rio de Janeiro and Santa Catarina did not update information about the vaccine. CearĂ¡ and Acre do not publish bulletins every day.

The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed newsletters about the disease and took information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of the totals of cases and deaths.
