In Pinheiros, west of São Paulo, it is possible to taste food from several countries in the same place. This is Trip Food – a kind of bar that brings together stalls with delicacies from places like Belgium, South Korea, Mexico and Germany.
The purpose of the space, which has two more units in Belo Horizonte (MG), is to serve “backpack food”. Therefore, no gourmet or expensive dishes: the idea is for customers to taste portions they would eat on the streets of the countries, prepared quickly, accompanied by a drink or beer.
The themed (and instagrammable) space is all decorated with flags and signs. The dishes arrive at the table with the indications of the corresponding countries. On the cups, messages like “next trip?” (next trip, in English), set the mood for backpacking.
Among the options for food, one of the most requested is the poutine, from Canada: a portion of fries covered with cheese and a hot filling to the customer’s taste – the traditional one is the meat sauce. The small version costs R$25.90, and the large version costs R$33.90.
There are also other options, such as the Uruguayan chivito (sandwich stuffed with sirloin steak and chimichurri, accompanied by two fried eggs, mozzarella, ham, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and potato; R$87, it is one of the most expensive on the menu) and the curry. wurst, a typical German dish consisting of a veal sausage, curry ketchup and fries (R$39.90).
Brazil is also represented in Trip Food, although with less expressive delicacies: chicken drumstick (R$ 22.90 a portion), beef mince (R$ 36.90, 150 grams), kibbeh stuffed with cheese (R$ 22 90 a portion) and the famous tapioca dices with sweet and sour pepper (R$ 34.90), which became a fever here.
It is worth knowing: the space is large and pet-friendly. From Friday to Sunday, there is live music.
