Brazil recorded, this Friday (28), 119 deaths from Covid and 6,669 cases of the disease. As a result, the country has lost 688,132 lives and 34,864,317 people infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is now 79 per day, a variation of 84% compared to the data of two weeks ago, which points to an upward trend for the third day — after 12 days of decline and stability. The moving average of cases is at 6,020 per day – up 46% over the same period.

The uptrend is verified when there is a variation greater than 15% in a period of 14 days. Stability is observed when there is a variation of up to 15%, up or down, within a two-week interval.

Federal District, Piauí, Roraima, Tocantins and Rio Grande do Norte did not update the data this Friday.

The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between SheetUOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and publish figures related to the coronavirus pandemic.

In all, 181,971,522 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil. Adding the single doses of Janssen vaccine, there are 171,413,954 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.71% of the population with the 1st dose and 79.79% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.

To date, 105,024,310 people have taken the third dose, and 34,706,771 the fourth.

The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the State Health Departments. The initiative of the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the attitudes of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed newsletters about the disease and took information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of the totals of cases and deaths.
