Cryoablation: A new method of treating breast tumors without surgery

by

How is the Cryoablation method applied?

When a woman is diagnosed with a breast lesion (palpation, mammography or ultrasound), a transdermal biopsy (Core-biopsy) is performed to identify the lesion histologically (benign or malignant). The tumor is then located by breast ultrasound.

With local anesthesia or intoxication and with the help of ultrasound guidance, the tumor is located in real time and the special needle (probe) is advanced inside it. The liquid nitrogen is then injected into the needle, freezing the tumor and a portion of tissue around the tumor (healthy boundaries) resulting in tumor necrosis.
In this way, the mechanism of phagocytosis is activated immediately, a normal process of the organism in which the organism, when it recognizes dead cells, automatically sends the phagocytes to destroy them.

2. Why should a woman do Cryoablation and not surgery?
The IceSense3 â„¢ Cryoablation System is a state-of-the-art machine that has received FDA, CE, CFDA and has been used for several years in the USA, Latin America, Europe, China, Japan and Thailand.
• Applies to all benign breast tumors, regardless of size such as fibroadenomas.
• For early breast cancers, according to the data of the ICE 3 study so far, the method has very promising results in low-risk patients with tumors up to 1.5 cm.
• It is a bloodless method with excellent aesthetic result, without surgery, without anesthesia, without postoperative drugs, without incision and without resection of a breast.
• This method can be used in a large percentage of patients with breast tumors, always following the same guidelines (ASBS – The American Society of Breast Surgeons).

3. What are the differences with the classic surgical method of breast resection?

Classic surgical method of breast resection:
1. General anesthesia
2. Postoperative antibiotics and painkillers
3. Blood loss from small to moderate.
4. Surgical incision-excision of a breast.
Possible breast deformity.
Possible deformed scar (keloid).
Possible skin thinning –
Tissue deficiency.
5. Plastic surgeon for oncoplasty and repair of tissue deficiency iatrogenically resulting from resection.
6. ODC or one day of hospitalization

Non-invasive method – Cryoablation:
1. Local anesthesia or intoxication
2. No drugs postoperatively.
3. Aseptic – without painkillers, ice is a natural analgesic
4. Bloodless (non-invasive)
5. Excellent aesthetic result without incision and without excision of breast part
6. Excellent aesthetic result (non-invasive method)
7. Stay in the clinic for 1 to 2 hours
