Brazil recorded 61 deaths from Covid and 1,879 cases of the disease this Monday (21). With that, the country reaches 689,064 lives lost and 35,066,199 infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is 45 per day, up 18% compared to the data from 14 days ago. The moving average of cases is 14,971 per day, up 240% over the same period.

Alagoas, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Norte and Sergipe did not register deaths. In Mato Grosso do Sul and Rondônia there were no cases or deaths in the last 24 hours.

The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 181,920,185 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil.

Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 171,951,963 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.68% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.04% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 105,845,052 people have already taken the third dose, and 36,031,158, the fourth.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and withdrew information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
