Koronovios – Doctors of Thessaloniki: Not all children get mild, they need to be vaccinated (vid)

by

Not all children get mild, the president of Nikolaos Nitsas warned in an online information about the vaccination of children carried out by the Medical Association of Thessaloniki.

“A child without an underlying disease will respond better to the virus, but not all children get mild. “When we have many children who are ill, there will be some serious cases,” Mr. Nitsas underlined regarding the argument that children are mildly ill with coronavirus.

“Children rarely have serious illnesses, but that does not mean we do not have them. We have children and newborns who are being treated in a serious condition. As in adolescents where the virus can leave long-term problems. The argument for not letting my child get sick is dismissed. There are adults near the children who also have problems and they transmit the virus. “We already have several million vaccinated children in the countries that have started vaccinating children,” said Mr. Roilidis.

Vaccinations in pediatricians

The president of ISTH, informed that from the beginning of 2022 pediatricians will be able to vaccinate children in their own clinics. So far, he characterized their participation as small and stressed that a greater expression of interest is expected from the pediatricians in this project, in the next period.

Regarding mRNA vaccines, he stressed that “it is an informant that after a while is destroyed inside the body”. Besides, the director of the DG Pediatric Clinic of the General Hospital Hippocrates, Emmanuel Roilidis pointed out that “these vaccines are synthetic and are produced outside the cells. Technology has advanced. We had more problems with the old vaccine technologies. “Studies on the vaccine show that it is safe and has no side effects until at least the age of 25.”

Children with disabilities and heart problems should be vaccinated

“Very severely immunocompromised children need a third dose to get good immunity from the virus, while children with a congenital problem or a disability – especially quadriplegia – need to be vaccinated. There is no provision for a third dose for children, only for the two doses of the vaccine. We do not yet have data on the duration of immunity that vaccines give to children since vaccination has now begun. “The immune response, however, is very good as well as the effectiveness,” said Mr. Roilidis.

In fact, he went on to say that there is no question of impaired fertility after vaccination, while regarding children who have heart problems, he said that “the vaccine can be given to these children as it does not affect the arrhythmia”.

Finally, regarding the flu vaccine in combination with that of the coronavirus, Mr. Roilidis clarified “Parents know that even eight vaccines are given to infants. Children can be vaccinated with both vaccines on the same day. From a vaccine in each hand without any problem to be protected “.

There is a long wait for the vaccine

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Alexandros Kopsis, also addressed the online information, saying: “We shielded the education system with vaccines and free self tests. “There are exceptional percentages and a long wait for the closing of appointments for children from 5 to 11 years old,” said the secretary general of the Ministry of Education.
