Brazil recorded 159 deaths from Covid and 27,931 cases of the disease this Tuesday (22). With that, the country reaches 689,223 lives lost and 35,094,130 infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths is 65 per day, up 43% compared to the data from 14 days ago. The moving average of cases is 18,592 per day, up 261% over the same period.

Acre, CearĂ¡, MaranhĂ£o, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, RondĂ´nia and Sergipe registered no deaths. In PiauĂ there were no cases and no deaths in the last 24 hours.

The country’s data, collected until 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Folha, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate figures related to the coronavirus pandemic.

The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 181,958,980 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 171,988,609 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.7% of the population with the 1st dose and 80.06% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 105,951,840 people have already taken the third dose, and 36,211,451, the fourth.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
