The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, said that the ministry is working to re-establish the Conecta SUS “as soon as possible”. The system has not issued proof of vaccination against Covid since last Friday (10).
He highlighted that the folder’s internal networks returned to work on Thursday (16). The Ministry of Health suffered a new hacker attack in recent days and part of the folder’s systems became unavailable.
“The issue of hackers is in the Federal Police to identify criminals and measures are being taken to reestablish the network. The internal networks of the ministry have already been re-established, and Conecta SUS is moving forward so that it can return to work as soon as possible” , told reporters at the door of the ministry.
Conecta SUS also gathers information on the clinical history of patients, medications dispensed and exams performed. These features also did not work again.
Minister Queiroga had said that the idea was to put it back on the air on Tuesday (14), but later claimed that the new attack could delay plans.
“I said that until tomorrow. Then there was this other attack. Unfortunately, we are victims of these figures,” said the minister on Monday (13).
The problem at the Ministry of Health comes at a time of pressure against the federal government for stricter control of borders, after the discovery of the omicron variant of the coronavirus.
The Federal Police opened an inquiry to investigate the hacker attack and assess the extent of the invasion carried out against different sectors of the federal government since Friday.
After the hacker attack, the Bolsonaro government announced that it would postpone the application of the new rules for the entry of travelers to Brazil by a week. The measures would take effect on Saturday (11), and travelers without vaccine would have to quarantine for five days.
But the new form of control was brought forward by an injunction by LuÃs Roberto Barroso, minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), released on Saturday. He even ordered the government to bar the unvaccinated, with some exceptions.
The STF formed a majority to establish that Brazilian residents who leave the country as of this Wednesday may return if they prove that they took the immunizing agent against Covid-19, or if they undergo a five-day quarantine and test negative.
Queiroga said he is awaiting the Supreme Court’s final decision to continue the new ordinance.
Anvisa started to demand a vaccination certificate from anyone who enters Brazil through airports or at the land border on Monday (16).
