Brazil recorded 179 deaths and 31,414 cases of Covid-19 this Thursday (29). As a result, since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has lost 693,783 lives and 36,306,560 cases of the disease.

The moving average of deaths is now 173 per day, an increase of 29% compared to two weeks ago. The average number of cases is 32,305, down 21% over the same period.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the State Health Secretariats.

In all, 182,471,554 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil. Espírito Santo recorded 29,759 first doses less than this fourth (28). The press office of the State Department of Health was sought, but has not yet provided clarification. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,773,224 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.94% of the population with the first dose and 80.42% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 106,929,970 people have taken the third dose, and 39,053,069 the fourth.

With regard to children, 14,394,733 first doses (54.48%) were applied in the age group from 3 to 11 years and 9,985,290 second doses (37.79%).

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
