When will manual prescription of pharmaceutical products be made?
The measure of the electronic prescription of medicines that are in short supply in our country comes into force.
As was announced by Thanos Pleuris, last Wednesday, in an emergency press conference at the Ministry of Health regarding the major problem of shortages in hundreds of medicines, the preparations included in the list of medicines of the National Medicines Organization (EOF) and for which parallels are prohibited exports and intra-Community traffic, will now be granted to citizens only with an electronic medical prescription.
The measure is implemented for reasons of defense and preservation of public health, it is emphasized in the relevant circular issued today.
Handwritten (unwritten) prescription of the pharmaceutical products contained in the respective EOF list, will only be made in the following cases:
-When it comes to insured entities that have not joined the Electronic Prescription system.
– When it comes to citizens (tourists) from countries outside the European Union, as well as European citizens who do not hold a European Health Insurance Card).
– Finally, when it comes to immigrants who for various reasons have not obtained AMKA or PAAUPA.
In any case, the handwritten prescription will be registered in the electronic prescription system by the pharmacy where it is performed, in accordance with the instructions of IDIKA.
