The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 6,667, of which 8 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases is 1,056,583 (daily change + 0.6%), of which 50.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 196 are considered related to travel from abroad and 2,739 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 71, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 20,198 deaths have been recorded. 2 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 655 (60.8% men). Their median age is 63 years. 78.8% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 548 (83.66%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 107 (16.34%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,703 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 312 (daily change -15.68%). The average seven-day admission is 321 patients. The median age of cases is 38 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 7,968,850 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests 36,307,114 samples have been tested. The seven-day average is 338,307 sample checks.
Self-tests: As of December 22, 2021, 65,615,316 statements of self-diagnostic result have been recorded electronically, while 3,737,678 people came for re-examination.
Bulk Sampling EODY: On December 22, 2021, 159 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 24,731 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 593 positive (2.4%) were found.
