During his speech at the Natal dos Catadores event, this Wednesday (22), Lula tried to signal that he has support in the financial market and in the business sector, a segment of society that is still seen as refractory to his candidacy.
“This day is very interesting, because here we have a banker, who is no longer a banker, who is on our side in this fight to rebuild democracy. […] We have businessmen here, who I’m not going to mention so as not to expose anyone, who are concerned with knowing how your life is, how you live, because we need to humanize the Brazilian people.”
With difficulty in convincing the portion of business that continues to dream of the growth of the so-called third way, the former president said that the financial sector should look for him on its knees.
“When everyone is receiving a salary, a little money, they will realize that life will improve for those who work, it will improve for the owner of the small business, for the banker. I am the person that bankers like least, but you know that in my governments and in Dilma’s, how many people do we put in the financial system, poor people? 70 million people. It means that in the PT government we put an Argentina and a Colombia within the financial system. These people should come to their knees and talk to us , stop being arrogant, stop thinking they are geniuses, that they know more than others,” he said at the end of his speech.
