The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 7,665, of which 10 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,064,243 (daily change + 0.7%), of which 50.4% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 206 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,591 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 94, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 20,292 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 624 (60.6% men). Their median age is 63 years. 79.0% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 524 (83.97%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 100 (16.03%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,708 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 342 (daily change + 9.62%). The average seven-day admission is 324 patients. The median age of cases is 38 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
Tested samples: From January 1, 2020 until today, in the laboratories that perform tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically state the total of the samples they test, a total of 7,998,015 clinical samples have been tested while from Health Units and Scales of EODY performing Rapid Ag tests 36,729,487 samples have been tested. The seven-day average is 338,349 sample checks.
Self-tests: As of December 23, 2021, 65,769,664 statements of self-diagnostic result have been recorded electronically, while 3,757,047 people came for re-examination.
Bulk Sampling EODY: On December 23, 2021, 159 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (KOMY) of EODY, in which 27,625 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 640 positive (2.32%) were found.
