Mônica Bergamo: Minister of Health visits Incor and says that institution can ‘support all of Brazil’


The Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, visited this Tuesday (7) the Instituto do Coração (Incor) of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of USP.

She was welcomed by doctor Roberto Kalil Filho, chairman of the board of directors of the institution, who introduced the minister to the areas of digital health, hemodynamics, emergency clinical unit and child hospitalization unit of the hospital.

Nísia Trindade said she was “confident that Incor can support the whole of Brazil by working with excellence”. “I believe that a path of quality in SUS is possible, and here at the institute I see an integration between assistance and research, in addition to being a reference institution in specialized assistance”, she said.

It was Nísia’s first visit as minister to the hospital complex. “We are happy to welcome you and be able to present the best that Incor has to offer to Brazilian society”, said Roberto Kalil.

Also participating in the meeting were the vice president of the board of directors of the institution, Fabio Jatene, the cardiologist Ludhmila Hajjar, the public prosecutor of São Paulo Arthur Pinto Filho, the secretary of Digital Health of the Ministry of Health, Ana Estela Haddad, and Secretary of Specialized Care of the Ministry of Health, Helvécio Miranda Magalhães Júnior.

Also on Tuesday (7) the minister visited the Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in the city of São Paulo. “We discussed expanding the dialogue between the government and the scientific community, through public-private partnerships and using research technologies to expand access to health and improve clinical outcomes”, said Fernando Ganem, general director of the hospital.

Representatives from the Oswaldo Cruz, AC Camargo, BP and HCor hospitals, and from the health plans Omint, Bradesco Saúde, Porto Seguro Saúde and SulAmérica were present at the visit.


The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), was honored at a dinner held last week by the Esfera Brasil group, in Brasília. The celebration was held at the home of businessman Fernando Marques, from União Química, and his wife, Samantha.

The Vice President and Minister of Development, Geraldo Alckmin, and the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Gabriel Galípolo, attended, as well as the Acting Governor of the Federal District, Celina Leão. The host of the evening was businessman João Camargo, chairman of the board of the Esfera group.

Organized on the occasion of Lira’s re-election as president of the Chamber, the event also brought together names from the financial market and the business community, such as the president of Bradesco, Octavio de Lazari, the managing partner of XP Investimentos Rafael Furlanetti and the institutional vice-president of Multiplan , Vander Giordano.
