Koronovios-Plevris: What he said about the extension of vaccination obligation and the duration of certificates

by

The Minister of Health Thanos Plevris referred to the possibility of re-evaluating the current framework for the obligation of vaccination and imposing a time limit on the vaccination certificate, during the announcement of the new measures.

“The government will re-evaluate the whole framework both in terms of the obligation of vaccinations and for the time when the certificates will be valid,” he stressed.

This means that it is not ruled out that the obligation to vaccinate may begin to “decline” with age.

It is recalled that at the moment the obligation concerns people over 60 years of age, to whom, if they have not received any vaccine by January 16, they will be fined 100 euros each month.

Regarding the vaccination certificate, according to information, the Commission is considering the possibility of a duration of 7 months for those who do not proceed with the booster dose.

In any case, Mr. Plevris pointed out that the committee unanimously calls on the citizens to be vaccinated as the vaccines cover the Omicron mutation and stressed that false news should not be spread that the vaccines do not cover it.
