The latest data from the results of the laboratory tests of the National Sewage Epidemiology Network for the epidemiological surveillance of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the last two weeks show a rapid increase in the coronavirus load (+ 430%) in Rethymno. operates under the coordination of EODY.
At the same time, a significant increase is observed in both Chania and Xanthi where the viral load is estimated at +242 and 221%.
The viral load in Attica increased by 20% while it is estimated that it is in Thessaloniki by 62% increased.
It should be noted that the value of the frequency of the Omicron strain in the sewage of Thessaloniki in the week 20-26 / 12/21 ranged at 20%, in the week 27/12 / 21-02 / 01/22 at 62% and in the last week 03 -09/01/22 at 89%.
The samples come from the Attica Region and the cities of Thessaloniki, Larissa, Volos, Heraklion, Chania, Rethymnon, Agios Nikolaos Lassithi, Patras, Xanthi, Alexandroupolis and Ioannina.

The net upward trends ranged from + 59% in Larissa to + 242% in Chania. Marginal increase was observed in Patras (+ 18%) and the Attica Region (+ 20%), while the urban wastewater load remained stable in Agios Nikolaos (+ 4%) and Heraklion (+ 10%).
